College Ministry

Christ Church is extraordinarily grateful for the opportunity to serve the students and community of the University of Virginia and PVCC, and we have been thrilled to see the enthusiastic response with which our efforts have been met. Our primary outreach to students–both undergraduate and graduate alike–is our 5:00PM service on Sunday evening, which is a mix of traditional Anglican liturgy, extraordinarily good music, and accessible, Gospel-centered preaching. During the school year, we serve a delicious free dinner following the service to anywhere from 100-200 hungry student mouths!

We also provide transportation to first-years (and whomever else) to and from church. Rides meet across from the old dorms in front of Gilmer Hall at 4:45PM and drop folks back off in the same spot after dinner, around 7:00PM. Please email David or Jen for more information.

It should be noted that while both the service and meal are geared toward students, they are open to the whole community.

Undergraduate Retreat

Our annual overnight retreat is a great chance to catch your breath, relax, and hopefully get some perspective. It happens this year towards the beginning of the spring semester.

Other Opportunities

In addition to the Sunday service, students are invited to join small group meetings throughout the week and other events throughout the year which include: study days, the retreat, Friendsgiving, and the senior send-off.
