Traditional Giving

You can support the ministry of Christ Church by placing
cash or checks in the offering plate during Sunday services, or by mailing checks, made out to “Christ Episcopal Church” to the church office at this address:

Christ Episcopal Church
100 West Jefferson St.
Charlottesville, VA 22902

Automatic Giving with Bill Pay Services

Another convenient way to support the ministry of Christ Church is to schedule your monthly pledge via the online bill pay services of your local bank. This is the electronic equivalent of writing a check. It’s fast, direct, and saves trees. You’ll need to call the church at (434) 293-2347 to get the unique 4-digit account number. You might also need these contact details:

Please visit your on-line banking program and be sure that Christ Episcopal Church with our proper mailing address of 100 W. Jefferson Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 is in place as your payee. Use the unique 4-digit account number as your “account number” with Christ Church. While there will not be an option to add a memo to your gift, if it needs to be designated other than for your pledge or normal giving, just let me or Lyn know via email or phone and we can make the proper notation for you.

Would you like to help those in our community directly affected by the crisis? This Emergency Fund is created specifically for that purpose. It will be administered and dispersed at the clergy’s discretion in consultation with the Senior Warden. We are aware of needs both within our Christ Church community as well as other individuals and organizations in Charlottesville. The money will be used locally and in direct response to this crisis.

To give to the Emergency Fund, please contact Marcy at (434) 293-2347 or send her an email: You can also give using any of the methods above, either by check, Paypal, or online bill pay—just write “COVID” in the memo.

Giving to the Christ Church Parishioner Fund

The new Parishioners Fund exists solely to serve our very own church family! Let’s face it, there are times when our faithful members may temporarily fall into financial difficulty due to loss of income for a variety of reasons. The early church’s tradition of caring for its people began on the day of Pentecost when, as Acts 4:34-35 says, “there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.”

The hope is that the Parishioners Fund will mirror that in some small way. Won’t you please join us in making a designated gift, whatever the amount, knowing that your contribution will eventually help a fellow parishioner through a time of great need? Be assured that all requests for financial support will be held in strictest confidence and screened only by a three-person Board of Trustees appointed by the Rector.

If you would like to add to this fund, please contact Marcy at 293-2347 or send her an email:

By far the best way to support the ministry of Christ Church is to pledge your yearly giving in advance. This allows us to plan our annual budget and programs more effectively and responsibly. Pledge cards are available in the church office and pews, and are distributed every Fall during our pledge campaign. Once you’ve filled it out, simply mail it to the church office at the address above or drop it in the collection plate. Would you prayerfully consider your 2021 pledge?
